The past 2 days' Bible Lectureship has been wonderful!
Being fed the spiritual food of the word of the Bible has enriched my life so much this few days. I marvel at the overseas brethren as they travel as far as from the US, Australia, India, Pakistan, China, Malaysia. I am impressed by the way they presented their lessons and the age they are at to be able to travel and preach the gospel. I just hear them speaking in my head. I just love the way they speak - in simplicity and in truth.
The topics are very real and close to our hearts as the theme this time is on - Worldliness. Tonight's lessons by Bro. Timothy Wilkes on the "New Age Movement" and Bro. Chris Herd's on "Refuse the Evil, Choose the Good" were so eye opening. These things are happening now and would happen even more in the future. Especially the New Age Movement where you see many churches becoming lost to this modernised concept.
We should not wait any longer because we do not know when we would not be on this earth anymore. Just as we were about to begin this morning's session, we received sad news that Bro. Vincent Kwek's brother passed away suddenly. Healthy, young man. Just died. Suddenly. The cause is unknown (until I find out more). However, this just shows how fragile life can be and if we do not start appreciating what we have and the invitation that God is extending to us, we would just not enter the kingdom of heaven. We would be cast out of the book of life and that aint what I want. That was why I decided to commit myself to Christ and do more for the church when I got baptized in 2002. I can be happier no more than serving and listening to God's blessed word being preached up there by our faithful brethren, in the pulpit. And as I am given the opportunity to get to know more about the works of the other churches, what we should do to keep the faith, how to be good Christian daughters and mothers and not succumb to the standards and temptations of the world, I really thank the Father in heaven for showering me with love and giving me people (friends and brethren in Christ) to guide me in this Christian race.
I am so looking forward to tomorrow's (6 Dec) lessons on Abortion, Euthanasia, Drinking and other worldly issues that I may be a victim of. I rather know now that fall into that trap. The loving Father in heaven guides and cares for His children. And if you wish to know more about the invitation that He is extending to you, you would definitely have to come and hear about it!

I would really miss the overseas brethren when they leave Singapore. Especially Sis. Maxine Mayo! She is one young (70+ years old), beautiful and active lady who is already a great-grandmother of 4! And she really touched me when she taught the lesson on how to live different stages of our lives.

"I sometimes wonder, why can't I take the initiative?! Just now, we were so close. I could have just asked, 'how are you?'. No, I didn't. Instead, you asked me how I was doing! I anticipate and hope the whole day that you would just appear and talk to me. I just hoped you would sit with me. Looks like hoping just aint the way to go. And you disappointed me when you didn't come in the early afternoon.
Well, it's a great thing that within this 1 year, we have changed a lot. And we are better able to communicate. Last year, this same time, we just said "Hi. Bye." and that was all for the night. At least for these few days, we had chatted quite a bit. More than our usual few sentences. However, I still am not able to make the 1st move and start a conversation. It's because I look up to you and would like to gain the acknowledgement from you. I am trying hard not to.
May tomorrow be a better day."
