I am back!! From "A Voyage of Songs 2005" in Shah Alam, KL. There's lots to blog about! Knowing myself, this entry is going to be long, with a lot of minor details and everything. I want to keep a good memory of this trip as i regret not doing so for the Genting trip in 2003. I would try to keep it short and sweet...hehe! Here i go!
-----------------
Nvm...i tried to blog in detail. But i got tired. so just deleted the whole lot. Maybe the overall impression and thoughts would be sufficient to keep in memory.
Overall, I did enjoy myself and the whole trip was filled with mixed emotions.
I was stressed by the onslaught of emotional stress that i was going to face during the competition. However, I had to overcome that coz I was the one who really wanted to go for the trip and i shouldn't have cold feet at that point in time.
I almost brokedown at times that I shouldn't have. I controlled. Especially at the encouraging moments where some TKchoir members calmed us down; when they assured us everything would go on fine; when the teachers (Mdm Goo, Ms Wang) encouraged us...it was touching...and Mr Toh who went on crapping, trying to calm us and everything... and the hugs that we gave to the ones closest and dearest to us...i loved that time...Also, when it was time to part with my TKChoir juniors at the Grand Finals. And when we(mjchoir) parted outside school...
I really brokedown (typical me) at times that I knew i would...when i felt that i screwed up some parts of the performance; when i saw others breakdown; when i really could not control the emotions that stirred up in me; when i heard the announcement of results; and not forgetting the words that came out of sam koh's mouth. The words were hurting. But it was for the good of all of us. She brought us through the journey of Ashita like what she did the last time for us during SYF for Ave Verum. Hurtful memories were brought back... Emotions aroused. And my heart still hurts whenever Ashita is sung. Thanks sam!
I was very happy, elated, over the moon...when the results were announced; when TKChoir got to perform again at the Grand Finals; when I met up with my TKChoir juniors and when close ties were formed between them; when love and confidence spread and many other occasions.
I found out many things about many people this time round and it was a great time for bonding. I spoke to people whom I never thought i would ever to in my life. I spent the whole time with people i didnt think i would have spent great times with them. I spent my time pigging out with a bunch of gals who had large appetites, though they look real thin. I ate cup noodles for 3 nights in a row. I ate lots of junk food. I talked a lot. I screamed a lot. And i love this joke!!
I drank.
Beer.
ROOT BEER!!
=D
I really enjoyed myself this time round and I have to really thank many people for this enjoyable and successful trip.

----------------------
The connecting door to you han and carine's room was great! Thanks to jwen, weslie and rui hong for exchanging rooms! If not, we wouldn't have enjoyed ourselves as much as we did. We had a party on the 3rd night. With food going around and playing games. Laming around. And the animal concentration game really brought us to the peak of the party. Thanks to all who were so sporting and joined in!
The next night which was the 4th night, we thought we could have played until such highness again, but i was a spoilsport and kept falling asleep. I was tired out by the running around the day before and the day itself. The day before, Ber, You han and I were shuttling between Mjchoir, Tkchoir and then Mjchoir's competition. It was tiring. And the 4th day itself, we went shopping at Sunway. did lots of walking. in the afternoon, results were announced.
MJChoir 2 Golds. (Folklore and A1 Open Mix)
TKChoir 2 Golds. (Junior Youth and A2 Open Mix)
And coz the Estonian TV Children's choir was so darn good, they won 2 Categories. So TK, being the 2nd highest, could perform in the Grand Finals. We had to go back again to Concorde and change into our gowns and then join TK for prac at GrandBlueWave Hotel again for the Grand Finals. It was great! I performed with no stress though there was a lot more people than that competition itself. We performed Meplalian and Dumbelle. It rained again! hehe! So cool! It rained during our competition for the A2 Open Mix when we did Dumbelle. At right times also. =)
It was seriously an exciting experience and a tiring one also.
The return journey was filled with songs that we once sang for our concert and competitions...
Though the trip ended without a debrief and in no formal manner, we know that it wont be the last day and last time that we would be meeting each other again. We are still young and the road is still long ahead of us. We have lots to do and MJChoir would still remain strong as the baton is passed from batch to batch.
When would this batch of MJChoir choristers meet again?
10 May 2006!
